Prophet Emmanuel Makandiwa's wife, who, since early last year is now referred to as Prophetess Ruth Makandiwa, has been immortalised in stone.
Sculptors Dugmore Fombe (in red T-shirt) and Misheck Mushanyure are seen here putting the finishing touches to the piece. They will then work on Prophet Makandiwa next. They have already completed the Ghanaian-based spiritual father, Prophet Victor Kusi Boateng's piece.
Information gathered by our news crew alleges that the two talented Harare-based sculptors fetched US$60,000 for immortalising Prophetess Ruth and Prophet Boateng in stone.
When reached for comment, Fombe, who operates from Number 100 Airport Road in Hatfield, said the sculptors were worth US$15,000 each. When the news crew visited the house again this week, the two pieces of work were no longer available.
Pastor Prime Kufa - prophet Emmanuel Makandiwa's spokesperson - professed ignorance over the carved stones when reached for comment. However, My Zimbabwe is informed that one of Prophet Makandiwa's followers is behind this multi-dollar project. A source from UFI church said showering their 'Papa' with surprises is believed to be a great way of 'planting' for blessings in one's life.
"I'm sure that must be someone or a family that wants to surprise Papa, in return for blessings. At UFI we all know that if you do something that Papa (Prophet Makandiwa) marvels then something wonderful will happen in your life. If I had money I would also have done the same for Prophet Makandiwa's parents or Prophet Angel and Prophetess Beverly Angel," said the church member who preferred to be identified as Mrs Moyo.
