The Japanese embassy has donated a consignment of text books worth US$5000 to the Catholic University in Harare.

Handing over part of the donated consignment Japan’s Ambassador to Zimbabwe his Excellency Koichi Morita said the books will help to promote research on Japanese culture.

The Rector of the University Mr Simon Nondo said the donation is most welcome as it comes during difficult times adding that relations with Japan are in line with the government’s Look East Policy.

The donation is the seventh under the library support programme extended to this country by Japan.

Japan and Zimbabwe enjoy strong bilateral relations which are set to grow stronger under the Look East Policy. newsnet
